Estados Unidos anunció cumbre el próximo 12 de mayo se llevará a cabo una cumbre mundial con el fin de trazar el fin de la crisis por la pandemia del Covid-19 y planificar futuros trastornos.
De hecho, este será el segundo encuentro mundial sobre la pandemia la cual lleva más de dos años vigente y ha dejado más de seis millones de personas fallecidas y fracturas en la economía mundial.
Dicha reunión será presidida por Estados Unidos y el actual presidente del G7, Alemania. También contará con el presidente del G20, Indonesia, el presidente de la Unión Africana, Senegal, y Belice, actual presidente de la agrupación Caricom del Caribe.
“La cumbre redoblará nuestros esfuerzos colectivos para poner fin a la fase aguda de la pandemia de covid-19 y prepararnos para futuras amenazas a la salud”, indicaron los países a través de un comunicado conjunto.
”Llamamos a los líderes mundiales, miembros de la sociedad civil, ONGs, filántropos y el sector privado a hacer nuevos compromisos y proveer soluciones para vacunar al mundo, salvar vidas ahora y construir una mejor seguridad sanitaria para todos, en todas partes”. Dice parte del comunicado.
Así mismo, algunos de los objetivos de esta cumbre son los de la vacunación, el desarrollo de test y tratamiento, la protección del sistema de salud y sus trabajadores o la financiación frente a posibles emergencias.
