El gobierno de Estados Unidos aseguró este martes que altos funcionarios venezolanos «están de acuerdo» en que el presidente de Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, debe abandonar el poder.
El asesor de seguridad nacional de la Casa Blanca, John Bolton, afirmó en una rueda de prensa que tanto el ministro de Defensa, Vladimir Padrino, como el presidente del Tribunal Supremo de Justicia de Venezuela, Maikel Moreno «están de acuerdo en que Maduro debe irse».
«Tienen que ser capaces de actuar esta tarde o noche, ayudar a que otras fuerzas militares se pasen al bando del presidente interino (Juan Guaidó)», señaló en rueda de prensa.
El ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, le respondió a Bolton en Twitter: «Siga soñando… Not today» («Hoy no»), en una aparente referencia al último capítulo de «Juego de Tronos».
Venezuela vive este martes una jornada de violentos enfrentamientos entre civiles y fuerzas de seguridad después de que Guaidó llamara a la población a movilizarse para derrocar a Maduro.
